APPOINTMENTS

We have changed the way we deliver services. Our practice operates by appointment only. We encourage you to see your regular GP in order to allow for continuity of care. If your regular GP is not available, we will provide an alternative doctor to ensure there is no delay in your care. 

Please be aware that our GPs aim to see patients on time, however, medical emergencies and acute injuries may require immediate attention and cause delays.

If you have a complicated problem that may take more time with your GP, please let our reception team know when making your appointment so a longer appointment can be secured.

CORONAVIRUS HOTLINE

Please keep Triple Zero (000) for emergencies only.

In the event of an emergency, please call an ambulance on 000.

HOME VISITS -  are available for regular patients of the practice who are unable to attend the centre because of their medical condition. Hospital, hostel and nursing home visits may also be arranged.

​

AFTER HOURS - For medical attention after hours please call (03) 5144 5766 and the call will be diverted to the duty doctor.   The practice provides 24 hour cover through a roster of doctors from this, and other local practices. Each doctor on the roster has their own billing policy.  Private fees may apply.

Central Gippsland Health Service is able to provide emergency care 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Appointment Schedule

On time, every time?

The GPs at Maffra Medical Centre see patients on a 15 minute appointment book. If you have a single issue or a few quicks items of concern the a 15 minute appointment is suitable. For more concerns or deeper investigations please book a 30 minute consultation. If you are unsure on what you should book please call the practice or discuss with your GP at your next appointment.

Telehealth

Telephone and Webcam Consultations

All Patients who meet the following criteria are eligible to have a Telehealth consultation 

  • has been diagnosed with COVID-19 virus but who is not a patient of a hospital; or

  • has been required to isolate themselves in quarantine in accordance with home isolation guidance issued by Australian Health Protection Principal Committee; or

  • considered more susceptible to the COVID-19 virus being:

    • at least 70 years old, or

    • at least 50 years old or over if of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; or

    • pregnant; or

    • a parent of a child under 12 months; or

    • a person under treatment for chronic health conditions or who are immune compromised; or

  • the person meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection.

Our reception team will help you with your Telehealth consultations.

Telehealth Consultations are billed as per face to face consultations.
